Intel has a new line of (Solid State Disk) SSD devices, starting with the Intel X25-M MLC device reviewed by AnandTech here. This is a laptop drive, in both 1.8” and 2.5” form factors that comes in 80GB and 160GB capacities. The price for the 80GB version is $595. Tom’s Hardware has a good review here.
This may be the beginning of the success and acceptance of SSD devices in the marketplace, with greatly improved performance.
