Microsoft has released the July 2009 standalone version of Books Online (BOL) for SQL Server 2008, which you can get here. BOL is a great resource, with lots of good sample code and examples. Even though the online version is updated more frequently, I still like to keep the latest standalone version installed on my workstation, just in case I don’t have internet connectivity.
