Redgate has released a free eBook that I wrote called SQL Server Hardware Choices Made Easy. This is basically a compilation of the month long series I wrote in April 2011, called A SQL Server Hardware Nugget A Day, along with additional content from my SQL Server Hardware book.
I think it is a pretty easy read, and I hope that you enjoy it!
This really was an easy read and was an excellent resource. If you’re just trying to get your arms around a SQL environment setup this is a great place to start.
Glad you liked it! Thanks.

Glenn- I bought your SQL Server hardware book 3 weeks ago and it’s simply outstanding in terms of content you covered! Learnt lot of new things!!Kudos…
Can i request you to comeup with a blog post explaining “DRAC or ILO for understanding a Physical Server in much better way”. It’s always a Blackbox for SQL DBA’s(well, at least for me). I see it’s missing in the book:(
