Interesting Interview With Microsoft’s David Campbell

The How Software is Built blog has a fairly long interview with David Campbell, who is a Technical Fellow in the Server Engine Group at Microsoft. He talks about some of the painful lessons that Microsoft learned during the SQL Server 2005 development cycle, and the improvements that have been made in the SQL Server 2008 development process. Based on what I have seen, I am confident that Microsoft will hit their Q3 RTM release schedule for SQL Server 2008.

I got to hear David speak at a Microsoft event in Redmond back in May of 2007, and I was pretty impressed.
