Microsoft Finally Announces SP3 for SQL Server 2005

Today at the MVP Summit in Seattle, we got the word (previously announced by Francois Ajenstadt) that Microsoft will be releasing SP3 for SQL Server 2005 in Q4, 2008. This is great news, especially since Microsoft was getting beat up so badly about this in blogs and on Microsoft Connect. They also announced the release of Cumulative Update 7 for SQL Server 2005 SP2, which is Build 3239.

I must say that I am enjoying my first MVP Summit, getting to meet so many more senior and well-known SQL Server MVPs in person. Microsoft is doing a fine job with the logistics and content at the event so far.
