Microsoft Releases Cumulative Update 1 For SQL Server 2008

I was a little surprised and happy to see that Microsoft just released CU1 for SQL Server 2008 today.  Microsoft has tried to stick to a regular release schedule of every eight weeks for cumulative updates (CU) for SQL Server 2005, and they have been pretty reliable with keeping to their schedule for the last several CU releases.

It is very nice to see CU1 for SQL Server 2008 right on time.  Aaron Bertrand posted about it over on SQLBlog.com earlier today.  This brings SQL Server 2008 up to Build 1763.

I also saw in a TechNet chat today that someone from the SQL Product team confirmed that they are still working on SP3 for SQL Server 2005, and it is on track to release by the end of CY2008.
