Denver SQL Server User’s Group Meeting on May 21

I will be one of the presenters at the Denver SQL Server User’s Group meeting tonight at the Microsoft office in the Denver Tech Center. I will be the opening act at 6:30PM, while fellow SQL MVP Paul Nielsen will give the long presentation at 7:00PM. Steve Jones, (who is also a SQL MVP, and one of the founders of SQLServerCentral.com) will also be attending, bearing gifts for the giveaway at 8PM.

Speaking of the raffle, I am donating an MSDN Premium Subscription for the giveaway, which is a pretty good bribe incentive to attend the meeting. Honestly, coming to a user’s group meeting (which is free) is a good way to meet your peers and make some new connections, and hopefully learn something new in the process. It’s an easy way to invest in your career.

I will be talking about how to use DMV queries to detect and diagnose performance issues, while Paul will be talking about advanced database design.
